Sunil Gavaskar impressed with Ravindra Jadeja’s performance
Ravindra Jadeja who has been called back in the Indian team for the Asia Cup delivered an emphatic performance against Bangladesh and claimed four wickets.
Impressed by this performance, former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar feels that Ravindra Jadeja merits his place in Team India’s playing XI.
The former India opener said that he believes Jadeja is a better bowler, batsman, and fielder than Axar Patel whom he replaced in the team.

Jadeja makes a sterling comeback in theĀ ODI team
Ravindra Jadeja was dropped from the teamĀ after failing to make an impact in the Champions Trophy in 2017 but an injury to Axar Patel paved way for the left-arm spinner’s comeback in the Indian team for the Asia Cup.
Jadeja made the most of this opportunity and returned with the figures of 4 wickets for 29 runs.

Added responsibilityĀ of captaincy makes Rohit a better batsman: Gavaskar
At the same time Gavaskar praised India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma. The right-hand batsman said that as a batsman, the added responsibility only makes Rohit better. He also added that every time he has got an opportunity to captain India, he has shown his acumen and has shown how patient he can be.
Gavaskar noted that the first time Rohit led Mumbai Indians to an IPL win, that was his first season as a captain and he impressed straight away with his knowledge of what to do next more than what to plan.
Rohit Sharma has been in sterling form in the Asia Cup. He scored a quick-fire 23 against Hong Kong, blasted a 39-ball-52 run knock against Pakistan and scored 83 not out against Bangladesh.
