Ishant Sharma has had his say on who he believes is the best batsman of all time. Shockingly, Sharma has not picked the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar.
In an interview with Cricbuzz, Ishant has revealed certain aspects of his life that have been behind the curtains all this while.
On being asked about who is his favourite batsman, Ishant was very clear about the best batsman he has ever seen and he didn’t pick Tendulkar even after playing with him for the Indian National Cricket Team for a long time.
Ishant named his favorite batsman of all time
On being asked about his favourite batsman between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, Ishant said
Virat Kohli is the best batsman I have ever seen play on a cricket field.
Interestingly, their chemistry is also great because of the fact that both have played junior and senior cricket representing the same team on multiple occasions.
Ishant geared up in the later stage of his career
When Ishant Sharma was introduced in team India, he had surprised everyone with his quickness and accuracy. His maiden tour to Australia was a career-defining moment in his career as he bowled an exceptional spell against one of the best Australian batsmen, Ricky Ponting.
However, his lean and tall body did not support his bowling style and he got injured way too often. He then worked a lot on gaining muscle strength which improvised his speed and accuracy to a great extent.
Ishant has become one of the most lethal fast bowlers in world cricket at the moment. His spell against England at the Lord’s in 2014 still goes on to be one of the best bowling spells by an Indian fast bowler in the country’s cricketing history.
