KL Rahul to play IND vs ENG 4th Test at Ranchi
KL Rahul is set to make a return to the middle-order for the fourth Test between India and England in Ranchi, starting on February 23. India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, confirmed Rahul’s potential comeback, stating, “He seems to be good,” on Sunday.
Rahul’s absence from the Visakhapatnam and Rajkot matches was a setback for the Indian team, but his recovery has been progressing positively. Initially, there were hopes of his return for the Rajkot Test, but it was decided to give him more time to ensure he was fully fit. According to a BCCI medical bulletin, Rahul was deemed to be only ’90 percent fit’ for the Rajkot Test, leading to his exclusion from the playing XI.
With Rahul poised to return, speculation surrounds the batting lineup, particularly regarding the position of Rajat Patidar, who has yet to make a significant impact in his first two Test appearances. If Rahul does indeed make his comeback, it is likely that Patidar will make way to accommodate him in the middle-order.
As the Indian team prepares for the crucial fourth Test in Ranchi, Rahul’s availability will provide a significant boost, adding depth and experience to the batting lineup. His return will be eagerly awaited by fans and teammates alike, as India aims to seize the momentum and secure victory in the ongoing series against England.
