Ruturaj Gaikwad IRE vs IND: Team India is all set to take on Ireland in the second and final T20I encounter on 28 June, 2022 (Tuesday) at the Castle Avenue in Dublin. The Hardik Pandya-led side defeated Ireland by a convincing margin of 7 wickets in the first T20I match after the visitors chased down 109 runs during a rain-marred encounter with as many as 16 balls to spare. India have a lead of 1-0 in the two-match T20I series against Ireland.

The Indian team were forced to make some last minute changes to their batting order in the first T20I game against Ireland. While returning into the playing 11, Deepak Hooda came out to open the batting alongside Ishan Kishan and there were no signs of Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, after the game, India captain Hardik Pandya mentioned that Gaikwad had suffered a calf niggle and the team management did not wanted to take any risk with the opener’s injury. It is very much likely that Ruturaj will not be playing the second and final T20I encounter against Ireland on Tuesday in order to completely recover from the injury.

“Ruturaj had a calf niggle, and we had a chance to send him out by taking some risk. But I was not okay. For me a player’s health is more important, the match will take care of itself. So we didn’t make much of a change, whatever everyone’s number was we went one place up. And it was not much of a headache. It was important to make sure Rutu was not put under much risk and take much of a chance with him,” said India captain Hardik Pandya.

India vs Ireland: Probable India Playing 11

Due to the unavailability of Ruturaj Gaikwad, India is very much likely to included one of Rahul Tripathi or Sanju Samson in the playing 11 for the second T20I against Ireland. Harshal Patel might also return to the team in place of Avesh Khan.
