IPL Playoffs: How can KKR, PBKS, RR and MI qualify for IPL 2021 playoffs?

Three teams in CSK, DC and RCB have sealed the playoffs spot fair and square at the moment. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been eliminated from the playoffs race as they don’t even have an outside chance like Punjab Kings at the moment.

With only 7 league games remaining before the playoffs of IPL 2021, as many as 4 teams are still fighting for that remaining playoff spot. The likes of KKR and RR have a very good chance to qualify for playoffs meanwhile defending champions MI and Punjab Kings have slim chances to qualify for the playoffs.

Kolkata Knight Riders have made a dramatic turnaround in this edition of IPL after a pathetic first half of the season. They bottled the game against Mumbai Indians in Chepauk in the first leg and that could just prove to be a costly loss to them. They are still in contention for the playoffs as if they win their remaining game against RR, they are through to the playoffs with 14 points and a superior NRR amongst its peers who are fighting for that 4^th spot.

Rajasthan Royals do have their fate in their own hands largely due to their game against KKR and MI as both their oppositions are in contention for that 4^th spot. Their equation is pretty simple at this point in time as if they win their remaining 2 games irrespective of the margin of victories, they will be playing the eliminator in Sharjah.

The two time defending champions Mumbai Indians not only need to win their remaining two games by a big margin but also need KKR to lose their last game to Rajasthan Royals. Mumbai lock horns with Rajasthan in their next game and Mumbai winning it will eliminate Rajasthan Royals automatically. They are in a tricky situation at this point but they are a champion side and one can never write them off in any scenario.

Punjab Kings can still qualify if they win their game against Chennai Super Kings by a huge margin and hope all of MI, RR and KKR lose atleast one of their remaining games that all will be on 12 points and PBKS can thump them on NRR which is highly unlikely scenario given the circumstances.
