Concussion Sub & Auto No Ball
The teams can introduce a concussion substitute and the use of it will also follow existing international rules.
Automatic No ball feature is another addition. The third umpire will call out the no ball as per existing international rules.
How the announcements will impact franchises
The following announcements came to light after the latest governing council meeting and this will have an impact on various franchises. The major concern for the franchises will be the availability of overseas professionals who will be having national commitments.
Franchise owners will be sweating over the fitness of their stars as it is a long tournament immediately after a busy international schedule.
Australia, New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka are the countries which will have international matches played during the first week of the tournament.
England is scheduled to tour SL and the second test will end on March 31st. Also Australia’s T20I assignment in New Zealand will end on March 29 which is the day IPL will start.
