Who will be Delhi Capitals Captain in IPL 2023?
There’s still no certainty if Rishabh Pant will be back in action for IPL 2023. In case he gets ruled out of the IPL 2023 as well, there’ll be a lot of headache for the Delhi Capitals as well. Let’s take a look at three players who can replace the keeper batter as the skipper of franchise 2023.
1. David Warner
David Warner emerges as one of the prime candidates to captain Delhi Capitals if Rishabh Pant gets ruled out of the tournament. The southpaw has a fair amount of captaincy experience in the IPL as he led Sunrisers Hyderabad for a long time and led them to the title win in 2016. In the 62 matches that he captained the team, he won 35 out of them at a win percentage of 52.17. With the kind of experience he has, he will be the first-choice player to replace the keeper batter as a skipper.
2. Prithvi Shaw
If Delhi Capitals want to go with the Indian player as a replacement for Pant as a skipper, it’s fair to say there will be no one better than young Prithvi Shaw. The young opener has been leading his domestic side well in the absence of big players and he also led India U19 to a World Cup victory in 2018.
3. Rovman Powell
Delhi Capitals can also look toward Rovman Powell as a captaincy option if Rishabh Pant gets ruled out of the tournament. The lanky batter has been recently appointed as the white-ball captain of the West Indies cricket team. With him having exposure of international captaincy, he can be a potential candidate to lead the team.
