IPL 2023 Unsold Players: A star-studded IPL 2023 auction awaits us on December 23. A total of 405 players have registered their names for the auction and all the franchise would be looking to strengthen their bases. With a flurry of players already in their ranks, it would be tough for franchises to get maximum talented players onboard. Therefore, here are some famous overseas names who could miss out on a contract this year and categorized under unsold players in IPL 2023.

1. Joe Root
Joe Root has expressed his desire to play in the IPL 2023. One of the most decorated batters in modern day cricket, Root is yet to play for the biggest T20 League in this world. Root has registered himself among the 405 players who will go under the hammer this year, but it is highly unlikely that he might get picked by any of the franchises. All the teams would be looking to cover their bases and strengthen their bench and Joe Root might not fit in any playing 11 straight away. Also, Root has been busy playing the longer formats in the last few years, which makes him uncertain to feature in a T20 side.
2. Chris Lynn
Chris Lynn’s charm has been faded in the IPL. Once considered as one of the most brutal openers in IPL has faded away in the last few seasons. He last played IPL in 2021 representing Mumbai Indians and featured only in their opening game scoring 49 runs against RCB. He went unsold in the next edition and once again is expected to remain fall under the category of IPL 2023 unsold players.
