IPL 2023 Start Date: The massive breaking news development is that the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is very much likely to start on 31 March or 1 April, 2023. The Gujarat Titans are currently the defending champions after they managed to win their debut edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) last year where they beat Rajasthan Royals in the finals. As witnessed over the years, IPL have always been a fabulous and remarkable cricketing festival not only in India but across the globe.

The latest update is that the start date of IPL 2023 is expected to be on 31 March or 1 April, 2023. The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League will comprise of as many as 74 matches and this is the major reason that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are eyeing to kickstart the T20 competition in the last week of March or the first week of April. Most importantly, the IPL will return this year to its old format where each of the 10 franchises will play half of their league games at their home ground and rest on the away grounds. The 2020 and 2021 edition of the T20 tournament were majorly held in the UAE while the IPL 2022 took place across five cities in India.
“In all likelihood, the league will be played in Mumbai with the Brabourne Stadium in South Mumbai and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai being potential venues for the 22 games in the first season. The Wankhede is likely to be kept ready for the IPL, which is likely to start on March 31 or April 1,” reported Cricbuzz.
Also, the first-ever edition of the Women’s Indian Premier League is scheduled to be played between 4 – 26 March, 2023. The Women’s IPL is very much likely to be held at the DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai while the Wankhede Stadium will be kept ready for IPL 2023.
