David Warner IPL 2022: The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) have witnessed quite mixed fortunes in the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Delhi Capitals registered an incredible 4-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians in their first match of the IPL 2022 season but then they conceded a disappointing 17-run defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans in their most recent game this year. In their third match of the season, Delhi Capitals will be playing against Lucknow Super Giants at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on 7 April (Thursday).

In a massive breaking news, Australia’s explosive opening batsman David Warner has completed his mandatory quarantine and will surely be available for the Delhi Capitals in the crucial game against Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday. Warner is expected to straightaway walk into the Delhi Capitals playing XI and most likely he will replace Tim Seifert. The Rishabh Pant-led side also have the option to play David Warner as the fourth overseas player in the side but then they will have to drop Mandeep Singh.

David Warner was bought by the Delhi Capitals during the Indian Premier League 2022 auction for a steal deal of INR 6.25 Crore. Despite his poor performance in the IPL 2021 season, the left-hander was the Player of the Tournament in Australia’s remarkable 2021 T20 World Cup winning campaign. Also, Warner has an outstanding IPL record with more than 5400 runs from as many as 150 games that includes a total of 50 half-centuries and 4 hundreds.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals

In another important update, right-arm speedster Anrich Nortje is also likely to be part of the DC playing 11 for the match against Lucknow Super Giants. Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting has also revealed that Mitchell Marsh is expected to be available for the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 10 April.
