Washington Sundar injured ahead of DC vs SRH: It has been a quite topsy-turvy kind of Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) campaign so far for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). After winning five matches on the trot, the Kane Williamson-led SRH team have now suffered two back-to-back losses against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. The Sunrisers Hyderabad are down with one other problem in the form an injury to off-spinner Washington Sundar.
IPL 2022: Washington Sundar INJURED ahead of DC vs SRH IPL Match? Here’s official update
Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody has revealed that Washington Sundar has been injured for the second time in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Sundar had injured his bowling hand while fielding during the previous game against Chennai Super Kings. Due to the same injury issue, the off-spinner was not fit to contribute with the ball in the match but he did came out to bat during the run-chase. However, Moody mentioned that the Sunrisers Hyderabad definitely felt the absence of Sundar with the ball as they conceded a massive total of 202 for 2 at the hands of CSK.
“It’s very unfortunate that he had a knock on the same hand were he split his webbing. It had healed completely but he re-injured that area, it’s not injured to the point that he needs it re-stitched. But unfortunately, it wasn’t in a state were he could bowl. It really did have an impact on for us in that early phase of bowling, given he has such a critical bowler for us,” SRH coach Tom Moody said at the post-match presentation.
