In the 2022 season, the total number of teams have been increased from 8 to 10, and there has been no official announcement regarding the prize money. According to ESPNCricinfo, the BCCI is of the view that the teams will be paid “based on the final standings and any increments would be adjusted and calculated based on ten teams rather than eight”. With the logistics and transportation cost reduced, it is expected that there will certainly be an increment to the prize money to the winner and runner up in the Indian Premier League 2022 edition as compared to last year’s remuneration.
