Delhi Capitals Covid Player IPL 2022: In an important breaking news, the Delhi Capitals (DC) have been hit by an unfortunate COVID outbreak in their camp during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) season. The Rishabh Pant-led team has cancelled their today’s scheduled travel to Pune as the entire contingent have been placed into quarantine in their respective rooms. The Delhi Capitals are scheduled to lock horns with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on 20 April, 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

In a massive blow to the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, the Delhi Capitals have witnessed yet another COVID scare. Earlier during the last week, DC physio Patrick Farhat had tested positive for Covid-19 after which he was sent into isolation. It is now being learnt that a Delhi Capitals overseas player has returned a positive test in the Rapid Antigen Test and will further undergo RT-PCR test in order to confirm the result. The entire DC contingent are currently undergoing quarantine in their rooms with door-to-door Covid-19 tests scheduled for today and tomorrow. There are also some reports that suggest that Mitchell Marsh is the player who has tested positive for COVID but it is yet to be confirmed.

“DC were supposed to travel to Pune today but the entire squad members have been told to retire to their respective rooms and as per protocol RT PCR is being done to ascertain whether there is an outbreak in the camp or it is an isolated case like Patrick Farhat,” a BCCI source said.

It is also to be noted that Delhi Capitals played their last IPL 2022 match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on 16 April (Saturday) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. DC suffered a disappointing 16-run defeat in that match against Bangalore. The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals are currently placed at the 8th spot on the points table with 2 wins from 5 matches.

Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings: Probable DC Playing 11

Even if right-arm speedster Anrich Nortje is termed fit for the next game against Punjab Kings, it will now be really difficult to accommodate him in the Delhi Capitals playing 11.
