IPL 2022 Auction: The Indian Premier League 2022 Auction is fast approaching and the stakes are quite high, with the major Indian and international players up for grabs. A total of 590 players have been shortlisted for the Auction scheduled on 12-13 February. With 74 games and season spanning for around 2 months, there will be discussion among the different team management on the availability of key foreign players as well.

RCB has kept 20 Crores for Shreyas Iyer: Aakash Chopra

The commentator Aakash Chopra is quite popular on the social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and has a large following on YouTube as well. Talking about the IPL 2022 Auctions on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra has hinted at Shreyas Iyer as the most expensive buy in the IPL 2022 Auction. Shreyas Iyer has captained Delhi Capitals in 2019 and 2020 season, with the team reaching the playoffs for both the times, and being a runner up in the latter season.

“The most expensive player, to be very honest, is going to be Shreyas Iyer. In this list, the most expensive will be Iyer because Ishan Kishan is not there. If Ishan was there, there could’ve been a tug of war. Now, they will reserve money for Ishan and money will be splashed out for Iyer,” Aakash Chopra said.

“Shreyas Iyer could be a potential captain of KKR or RCB. I don’t think Punjab would be looking at him,” Aakash Chopra concluded.

Overseas Players who can be Most Expensive Buys in IPL Mega Auction

1. Mitchell Marsh

The batting all rounder was terrific in the T20 World Cup, and was named as Player of the Match in Finals as well. He maintained his consistency in Big Bash 2021/22 and was one of the top performers to help Perth Scorchers to lift the title. With an experience of playing in T20 cricket over the years and current form, he is expected to generate a lot of interest from the franchises.

2. Jason Holder

The best performer in the recently completed bilateral T20I series between West Indies and England, Jason Holder will be one of the players to watch out for in the auction. With fine performances for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last season, he can be trusted by few of the franchises to deliver in crucial situations.
