The next edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has already started to catch the eyeball of many. With mega-auction set to take place along with addition of two new teams, the 10-team tournament will only give fans double excitement.
Aakash Chopra predicts KL Rahul to be the most expensive player in the IPL 2022 auctionÂ
The IPL 2022 mega auction is set to take place in next few months. Almost every cricket player across the globe will go down under the hammer and franchises would be wanting to bag the best players for the team.

Earlier, some reports emerged that Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul has told the franchise to not retain him as he wants to go under the hammer in the mega auction and play for some other franchise.
Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra took to his official Twitter account and said that if KL Rahul ends up in the auction he’ll be the most expensive player and can fetch the bid of more than INR 20 Crores.
“If KL Rahul ends up in the auction…and if the draft system doesn’t put a ceiling on a player’s salary…he will easily be the most expensive player in the upcoming auction. 20 Crore+,” Aakash Chopra Tweeted.

IPL 2022 Auction
According ESPNCricifno, the IPL has informally told the franchises about the rules for the mega auction. The rules suggest that the eight existing teams can retain a total of four players among which different combinations of; three India and one overseas or two Indians and two overseas players can be retained.
Also, three Indian players picked could be capped, uncapped or a combination of both. The two new teams will be allowed to pick three players from the players pool ahead of the mega auction in the combination of; two Indian players and one overseas.
