IPL 2020 not possible right now: BCCI

The lockdown in India has been going strong without showing any mercy towards people and as a matter of fact, this phase of lockdown is been called as 4.0 which means the lockdown has entered its 4th phase in the country.

It has been more then 3 months without any cricketing action and the people are fighting for survival as this corona has been taking lives of the people without any clemency. As the restrictions are slowly being lifted, the cricket fans are feeling to sense some positivity regarding the resumption of some cricketing action and one of the important tournament in Indian premier league.

How can IPL happen without any travel?- BCCI treasurer

Although several restrictions have been eased by the government for this phase of lockdown, the travel restrictions between states and countries remains intact which puts the situation of the happenings of IPL in jeopardy for one more time. There are 8 teams participating in IPL and each team will have to travel to other venues to play games which is a dangerous thing to do in the present scenario.

When asked about the current situation of the whereabouts of the IPL, the BCCI treasurer said,

The IPL at the moment is not possible because travel restrictions are still there. So, how can you have the IPL without any travel happening? We are studying these guidelines and will study state governments’ guidelines also. Accordingly, we will plan

ICC will try to run WT20 as per scheduled- -Arun Dhumal

There has been a lot of speculations going around in the recent past that the cash rich league might replace the WT20 which is scheduled for October this year in Australia as that is the only window where the overseas players will be available to take part in IPL.

The T20 World Cup is an ICC event. It will generate revenue for the global body, and the ICC will do its level best to organise the tournament as per schedule
