This star player will play in Vijay Hazare Trophy Quarter-Finals

India’s limited over seasoned opener Rohit Sharma agreed to play in the quarter-final match for his home side Mumbai against Bihar in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Mumbaikar player made himself free for the home side to play in a quarterfinal match ahead of the ODI series against Windies. Rohit was even ready to play against Maharashtra last week, but team management decided to use him in quarter-final as they are already at the safer position in the domestic one-day competition.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said, “Rohit is very keen to play for Mumbai, but we have decided to bring him in for quarter-finals.”
Rohit’s last appearance in Vijay Hazare Trophy was happened to be back in a 2016-2017 season where he scored 16 against Andhra Pradesh and four runs against Goa. Mumbai won both the matches of last season but couldn’t make it to the knockout stage.
Mumbai team has players like Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer to play for them which led the team’s atmosphere to a higher level.
They all belong to the list of highest run-getters for Mumbai in a season where Ajinkya Rahane scored 230 runs, Iyer scored 311, and Prithvi Shaw accumulated 287 for the team.
Rahane was leading the side initially then he was called for a national duty against Windies, Shreyas was given a chance to captain the side in the absence of Rahane.
Now, Iyer will remain to be the captain of the team despite Rohit’s presence in the squad who is the vice-captain of India’s ODI side.

This season, Mumbai managed to storm into the knockout stage and having a marquee player like Rohit may help them to win the trophy this year.
Mumbai won the trophy twice, and now they must be eyeing another one this season.
Quarterfinal will kick off on October 14 where they will face Bihar at Just Cricket Academy Ground, Bengaluru.
The second quarter-final will be played on the same date between Delhi and Haryana at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
