Prithvi Shaw likely to return for Boxing Day Test: Shastri
Ravi Shastri has said that Prithvi Shaw might be back for India’s third Test against Australia in Melbourne which is slated to start from 26 November.
On the eve of the opening Test, Shastri said, “It was really heartbreaking to see him go down the way he did but he is recovering well. He has started to walk and he might begin running by the end of this week.”
Shaw had injured his ankle during the practice game against CA XI. He injured himself while fielding when he had leapt for taking a catch at the deep mid-wicket boundary when he twisted his ankle. He was then immediately taken to the hospital.
India’s four-match Test series will start from December 2018.
“A bit of banter is not harmful,” says Kohli
“No team is weak at home. I expect Australia to come out all guns blazing against India. We have talent and experience and we expect it to be crackling of a series,” he added.
Talking about the expectations from the first Test, Indian skipper Kohli said that both the teams will indulge in fierce competition in the four-match Test series. Kohli also said that both the teams would have some tense moments but at the same time, he also assured that he would not let things slip away.
“I don’t see stuff happening which has happened in the past where both the teams have crossed the line. But we also think that cricket is a competitive sport and we cannot expect them to bowl and walk away,” said Kohli.
He also advocated that a bit of banter is not harmful. Kohli said, “I do not see anything radical happening as the skill-set is high. We would not to get into such situations but there are times when finding ways to upset the rhythm is important,” he said.
