Expressing his excitement over the Asia Cup 2018 encounter against its arch-rivals India, Pakistan latest batting sensation has said that the upcoming clash will be a test of nerves and the team who could handle the pressure well will ultimately win.
He also said that despite the fact that India’s regular skipper Virat Kohli would not be featuring in this edition of Asia Cup, the Indian team is still capable of posing a threat to them.
“Every international match brings tremendous pressure but whenever we play against India, it is a totally different affair.”
“I believe the team which handles the pressure better will ultimately win. Virat Kohli is a world-class player but Indian team is capable of posing threat to us even without him. I hope people will get to witness an interesting match between the two sides,” Fakhar Zaman said in an interview.
Zaman says Pakistan has an edge over India
Talking about his team’s previous experience and familiarity with the conditions, Zaman said that his team will have an advantage over its opponents.
“UAE is like a home ground for us. We will definitely have an advantage over our opponents because we have experience of playing a lot of cricket there,” he said.
The opening batsman also said that we will look forward to carrying his good form forward in the Asia Cup which is slated to start from 15 September.
Zaman became Pakistan’s first batsman to hit a double century in One Day Internationals. He achieved the milestone during a match against Zimbabwe this year.
He also became the quickest to score 1000 runs in the limited-overs format surpassing the record of West Indies legend Vivian Richards.
