India will have very limited options with respect to fast bowling resources in the bench for the WI vs IND 2022 as one of the primary death bowlers has been ruled out of the 3rd T20I.
IND vs WI: Harshal Patel to miss out of 3rd T20I
India went in with some fringe players for the white ball series against West Indies in West Indies. The likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah were given rest for both ODIs and T20Is whereas the likes of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant were given rest for ODIs alone.
India are big on experimenting with different players for different slots with the intention to make their batsmen flexible to play in any given slot. India went in with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh as their lead pacers in their first game leaving Harshal Patel out of the playing 11, this could also mean that India had already fixed with mind about Harshal Patel being one of the bowling partners for Jasprit Bumrah in Australia for WT20.
India lost the 2nd T20I owing to some awful bowling by Avesh Khan, they would have liked to bring Harshal Patel for the 3rd game but the Gujarat pacer has sustained a rib injury which will keep him out of the 3rd game.
With Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel picking themselves in the playing 11 for the world cup, India will have a tough task in finalising their 3rd seamer. They have 3 options to choose from. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is ahead of his peers Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan due to his experience and a proven customer that he is. Arshdeep Singh has been in extraordinary form and has 2 excellent IPL seasons at the back of him to go with the left arm angle he adds to the table. Avesh Khan has the pace on his side along with his ability to hit the deck which will be useful on the decks of Australia.
