India vs Sri Lanka: Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of T20 series. Here's update

India vs Sri Lanka: Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of T20 series

One of the finest leg spinners of Sri Lanka team, Wanindu Hasaranga missed the final 3 T20I against Australia due to being COVID positive. A few days back, Sri Lanka Cricket announced the squad for the India T20I series, which included Wanindu Hasaranga. But in the latest testing conducted for all the members of the squad in Lucknow on Wednesday morning, Wanindu Hasaranga was found positive again and is set to miss the T20I series.

The COVID protocol rules by BCCI states the isolation of 7 days after testing positive. With this update, Wanindu Hasaranga is likely to miss the 3- match T20I series slated to be played until February 27. The spinner has been bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore, and will look to be match fit ahead of the Indian Premier League expected to start to from last week of March.

Sri Lanka Squad for IND vs SL T20I series

The Sri Lanka team will miss the services of Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thushara, and Ramesh Mendis due to injury concerns. While Ashian Daniel has earned a maiden call up to the squad. The likes of Pathum Nissanka and Lahiru Kumara will be the key players for the team in this series.
