Deepak Chahar Ruled out of India vs Sri Lanka Series
Deepak Chahar, who has been a consistent wicket taker in the powerplay overs for the Indian team as well as Chennai Super Kings has sustained a Grade 1 Tear Hamstring injury during 3rd T20I against West Indies at Kolkata on 20th February. It all happened when Deepak was in full flow and took 2 wickets of the West Indies openers Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope. In the 3rd over of the innings, Deepak pulled up during a run up to his delivery and left the field and could not take part in the remaining part of the fixture.

The injury is said to be Grade 1 Tear, and it may take upto 5-6 weeks for Chahar to return to the cricket field after proper rehabilitation. With IPL 2022 in a month’s time, it is expected that Chahar may miss the first few league matches, with keeping in mind T20 World Cup scheduled later in the year.
