India vs Sri Lanka: Indian Cricket Team is currently taking on Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series. They displayed a sensational performance in the first game and cliched the nail-bitter by just 2 runs. But it was a forgettable outing for them in the second game as they struggled in all the departments. With the series being levelled at 1-1, the focus now shifts to the final game, which will be played in Rajkot on 7th January.
India vs Sri Lanka: 3 Changes India can make for IND vs SL 3rd T20I
The second game was a total disappointment for India as they failed to perform in all three departments and therefore there’ll be a lot of areas for the think tank to look into. With still a day remaining for the second game, let’s take a look at 3 Changes India can make for IND vs SL 3rd T20I:
1. Ruturaj Gaikwad in place of Shubman Gill
India can look to include Ruturaj Gaikwad for the final game in place of Shubman Gill. The latter has struggled to get going in the first two games and has managed just 12 runs in the two games. Gaikwad on the other hand has been performing well in the domestic circuit and it’s fair to say that team can’t keep him out for long. With Gill struggling in two games, it is likely that the CSK opener will be in the mix for the final game of the series.
2. Washington Sundar in place of Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal could also make it for Washington Sundar in the third T20I against Sri Lanka. The leg-spinner has been consistently failing to take wickets and is leaking runs at a fair rate. He had been failing to make a mark with the ball. Clouds are hovering over his place and with Washington possessing ability with the bat, he will well be ahead of Chahal in the pecking order now. The leggie conceded 26 runs in just 2 overs in the first game and returned with the figures of 1/30 in the second game as the opposition targeted him. Sundar on the other hand has performed staggering well when given the opportunity and therefore could be in line for the third game.
3. Mukesh Kumar in place of Arshdeep Singh
Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh after missing the first game due to illness looked out of sorts in the second game. He bowled 5 no-balls in the game, the most by any bowler in an inning, and also seconded 37 runs in 2 overs. It seemed that team management rushed him as he still wasn’t well. Therefore the team is likely to res him for the second game and hand a debut to Mukesh Kumar. They would want to give a game to a young pacer as he has been staggering in the domestic circuit. If he makes his debut for India in the next game, he’ll become the first player to play for the national side without playing IPL.
