India vs Sri Lanka 2022: In a big breaking news, the schedule for the upcoming series between hosts India and Sri Lanka has been announced. After the completion of the West Indies series, Team India is scheduled to host Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series starting with the opening T20I match on 24 February, 2022. Both these teams will then lock horns in a two-match Test series.

The dates for the upcoming Sri Lanka’s tour of India have reportedly been revealed. According to a report by Dainik Jagran, the first T20I game between India and Sri Lanka is set to start on 24 February while the final two T20I matches will take place on 26 and 27 February, 2022 respectively. Recently the Sri Lanka Cricket Board had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play the T20I series prior to the Test matches which has reportedly been agreed. The IND vs SL first Test is likely start from 4 March while the BCCI is also planning to organise the second and final Test match as a day-night fixture scheduled to begin from 12 March at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

IND vs SL Start Date
According to sources, Lucknow is likely to host the IND vs SL first and second T20I matches while the third and final T20I game will take place in Mohali. The opening Test match between India and Sri Lanka will also be held at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Much like India is set to host West Indies, Sri Lanka are also scheduled to play a five-match T20I series that ends on 20 February. This was the main reason why Sri Lanka Cricket Board had requested BCCI to play the T20Is first instead of the Test matches.
