India vs New Zealand: On Sunday, December 18, New Zealand released their lineup for the forthcoming ODI series against India in India in January 2023. Kane Williamson (white-ball), the team’s normal captain, will return home, therefore Tom Latham will take the helm in India.
Additionally, the Black Caps have released their three-match ODI series team against Pakistan in Pakistan. To balance the players’ workload for the two games, the New Zealand selectors have picked a split squad. Due to the volume of cricket played internationally these days, workload management has taken on major importance in the current period.
After the final ODI of the Pakistan tour, Tim Southee, who was recently named as New Zealand’s red-ball captain after Williamson resigned, will fly home with coaches Gary Stead and Shane Jurgensen to begin their preparations for a home Test series against England scheduled to be played in mid-February 2023.
For the series in India, left-hander Mark Chapman and bowler Jacob Duffy will take the place of Williamson and Southee. The team has not yet been revealed for the T20I series against India. All-rounder Henry Shipley of Canterbury, who has been successful recently in the local circuit, was recognised for his efforts and was able to earn a spot in the ODI squads for both tours (Pakistan and India).
