After losing the first Test in a pretty convincing fashion, Team India bounced back strongly with a comprehensive 317-run victory in the second Test against England to level the four-match Test series 1-1. Rohit Sharma’s fabulous hundred, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant’s fifties alongwith Ravichandran Ashwin’s stunning all-round show and Axar Patel’s brilliant performance with the ball powered India to a big win in the second India vs England Test in Chennai. However, former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja was quite delighted after watching Virat Kohli’s masterclass with the bat in the second innings of the Test match.

IND vs ENG: Ramiz Raja compares Kohli’s batting to Rolls Royce
On a pitch which was turning square from the very first day of the second Test match, Indian captain Virat Kohli played a sensational innings of 62 runs and showed the world how to bat on a turning surface. Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja feels Kohli was by far the best batsman in the second Test match. Ramiz pointed out to Virat’s exemplary footwork and concentration in challenging conditions and former Pakistan batsman even felt like the stylish and flamboyant Rolls Royce car was batting.
“The batting was outstanding. When your opener scores above 160, you can’t really question the pitch. And the way Ashwin batted in the second innings using his common sense was superb. But the man who batted the best in the match was Virat Kohli. His footwork exemplary, concentration was very good on a difficult track. It felt like a Rolls Royce was batting in the middle,” Raja said in his YouTube channel.

India went ahead with a perfect team: Ramiz Raja
Ramiz Raja stated that the hosts were absolutely spot on with their selections in the playing XI for the second Test against England. India made three changes to their eleven with the trio of Axar Patel, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav coming in for Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah and Shahbaz Nadeem. Axar justified his selection by picking an excellent five-wicket haul on debut in the second innings of the Test match. India and England will now be facing each other in the third Test match which will be a day-night game starting from February 24 in Ahmedabad.
“India went ahead of the perfect team. They did not shy away from making bold selections. Axar Patel picked up five wickets on debut, Ravichandran Ashwin scored a century, picked up wickets, the catching was brilliant from India. Overall, it was a complete performance from India. They had lost the first Test, needed to make a turnaround and they did it,” Ramiz added.
“My gut feeling says, England will be battered in the rest of the series. India are now in form,” the former Pakistan cricketer concluded.
