After a disappointing end to the first Test match, England and India are squaring off in the second Test match at Lord’s cricket ground. Both the side made some changes to their playing XI. While England drafted Moeen Ali, Mark Wood and Haseeb Hameed, India on the other hand had a forced change as injured Shardul Thakur was replaced by Ishant Sharma.

The first day of the second Test match at Lord’s was a long and tiring day for the England cricket team but it was marred by a comical incident that stole the limelight of every fan on the social media.

It was during Sam Curran’s over, Indian skipper Virat Kohli leaned forward to play the cover drive on wide delivery outside the off-stump and didn’t get enough timing for the ball to go over the ropes.
Fielders Haseeb Hameed and Dominic Sibley ran after the ball to save the boundary and to evade a nasty collision, both of them backed off thinking that the other fielder would dive. The duo then slowed down and dived together and the moment was captured, that went viral over social media.

India vs England 2nd Test: What happened on the Day 1 of the Lord’s Test?
Considering the overcast conditions, English skipper Joe Root won the toss and decided to field first. Openers Rohit Sharma and Kl Rahul continued their red hot form and gave their team a dream start at Lord’s cricket ground, scoring 126 runs for the opening stand for Virat Kohli-led side, first outside Asia since 2010.
After the wicket of Rohit Sharma (84), KL Rahul led the charge and notched up a masterful century. For England, James Anderson was the pick of the bowlers on Day 1 as the talismanic pacer removed Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara. The hosts finished the day on high by sending Indian skipper back in the hut for 42 runs as on stumps Team India were 276/3 with Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul unbeaten at the crease on 1 and 127 respectively.
