India vs Australia Pitch report: The fourth test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy has already been started. Australian stand-in skipper Steven Smith won the toss and opted to bat first. The surface wasn’t a sand pit and the spinners didn’t get into the game from the word ‘go.’
The surface offered some bounce and good carry through to the wicket-keeper which tempted the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to use his pacers Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav from either end of the wicket. At the end of the first session of play the match was nicely poised as Australia lost Travis Head & Marnus Labuschagne at the score of 75 in 29 overs. Mohammad Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin got a wicket each.

Thanks for preparing a standard test match pitch at Ahmedabad. Atleast seems that way on day 1.

All the petrified mindset of Australia about spin pitches had changed right after second test, when a complacent India loose-talked about pitch-type changes for next two tests, a red-soil at Indore compared to blacks at earlier venues and pacy, greentop at Ahmedabad! India, waning!

Indian batting unit lacks most in this series is to bat with sheer concentration due to all the noise around the pitch.
Aus have picked 3 spinners. Desperately wanna see the art to bat spin in the Ahmedabad test.
