IND vs AUS

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 has seen everything so far in the three Tests. While the first two games were testimony of India’s dominance at home, third game witnessed the classical Australian comeback. The series between the two cricketing giants stands at 2-1 with hosts in lead and it’s fair to say that the last game will be nothing short of entertainment.

Indian Cricket Team crushed Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the Nagpur to take an early lead in the series. They outclassed the opposition in all three departments and the brilliance of skipper Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja Axar Patel and R Ashwin was too much for the visitors to handle.

The same story continued in Delhi as India yet again on the account of staggering bowling effort by R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja crushed Australia to bag another thumping win. But they were outplayed by the visitors, who won the third game by 9 wickets, in Indore to make the series 2-1. Be it with the bat or with the ball, Australia was better than India and marked their first win in the series. With this win, they also qualified for the World Test Championship Final.

As India vs Australia 4th Test contest is at the edge, here’s the pitch report and more from Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad Pitch Report

The pitch in Ahmedabad is traditionally a slow surface. The pitch in the early times used to assist bowlers a lot but over the course of years, it has turned into a belter for the batters. The pitch in the game is expected to get slow as the game progresses. Batters will need to time the ball well considering the slowness of the pitch but one they get set they can pile up big amount of runs. The venue so far has hosted 14 games and the average first inning score at this venue is 338, which dips down in last three innings as the game progresses. Out of 14 games, 4 each have been won by teams batting and bowling first whereas rest have ended in a draw. The record at the venue suggests that captain winning the toss should opt to bat as fresh pitch will be best to bat.
