After not a great 2022 calendar year, the Indian team have been on a roll especially at the start of the 2023 calendar year. India went on to beat Sri Lanka and New Zealand at home both in the ODI as well as T20I series by comprehensive margins. India also defeated both Bangladesh and Australia during their last two Test series.

India ended the iconic Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 four-match Test series with a sensational 2-1 victory with the hosts successfully qualifying for this year’s ICC World Test Championship final alongside Australia. Both India and Australia will now lock horns in a three-match ODI series starting with the first ODI encounter on 17 March, 2023 and the final ODI schedule to take place on 22 March, 2023 in Chennai. The Indian cricketers will then be playing for their respective franchises in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Team India will then be seen in action during the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia starting from 7 June, 2023 at the Kennington Oval in London. After the WTC final, India is scheduled to tour the Caribbean where they will play 2 Tests, 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against West Indies. The Indian side will then be part of the Asia Cup 2023 set to take place in September later this year at a neutral venue.
Before the all-important 50-overs 2023 World Cup at home, the Indian team will once again lock horns with Australia in a three-match ODI series at home which will be a good preparation for the mega event build up. The 2023 World Cup is scheduled to kickstart from October 2023 in India.
