The ICC T20 World Cup 2021, which will take place in UAE and Oman, is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the marquee tournament. The global event will kick start from 17th October with a summit clash to be played on 14th November. The teams have the option to revise their squad till 10th October and the management of the respective teams would be keeping a keen eye on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 about who to draft in the side and whom not to.
Varun Chakravarthy suffers Knee Injury ahead of the T20 World Cup Start Date
The excitement for the T20 World Cup is building up and the Indian fans would be even more eager for the event because this will be the last World Cup for Virat Kohli as a skipper and Team India would be looking to give their everything for their captain.

However, with the marquee tournament around the corner, Team India have suffered a major injury scare as mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy is believed to have injured his knees. The Tamil Nadu born spinner would leave a massive void in the Indian side as his variations and unique skills would’ve been made a lot of difference.
BCCI source, confirmed the development saying that he’s in a lot of pain and focus’s would on managing his pain during the T20 World Cup.
“Varun’s knees are not in the greatest of condition. He is in pain and trusts me had it not been in a T20 World Cup, perhaps even Indian team management wouldn’t have taken the risk of playing him. To be 100 per cent fit, he might later require extensive rehab but right now, the focus will be on his pain management during the T20 World Cup.” BCCI source said.
The mystery spinner has been one of the mainstays in the bowling department for Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing IPL 2021 as so far in 13 games, Chakravarthy has bagged 15 wickets at an economy rate of just 6.73.

Yuzvendra Chahal front-runner to replace Varun Chakravarthy in India T20 WC Squad
When the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup was announced, Yuzvendra Chahal’s name not in the squad came as a surprise for almost every Indian fan. However, if Varun Chakravarthy is ruled out of the marquee tournament, that will take place next month, the Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner will be the front runner to replace him considering his red hot form.
The senior Indian spinner’s turnaround in the second leg of the tournament has been the focal point of the tournament as he has scalped 11 wickets so far in the second phase and the batsmen have found it difficult to take him on for runs.
