Fresh from their triumph at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian cricket team is gearing up for a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The series kicks off on Saturday, July 6, with all matches set to be played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
Leading the Indian squad is Shubman Gill, who missed the T20 World Cup but now heads a youthful team featuring several IPL 2024 standouts. Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma, who had exceptional IPL seasons, join the squad alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the top order. The wicketkeeping duties will be shared by Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi will handle the spin department, while Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, and Tushar Deshpande bolster the seam attack.
Initially, Nitish Kumar Reddy was included in the squad but was replaced by Shivam Dube due to an injury. Dube, a key player in India’s T20 World Cup campaign, adds experience to the team.
