India highest run chase in ODI: Over the years, Indian cricket team has surpassed many great records and have emerged as one of the powerhouses in cricket. It was under the leadership of Mohammed Azharuddin when team India started winning matches overseas in bilateral series, and the legacy was continued by Sourav Ganguly.
However, the era of MS Dhoni transformed Indian cricket. He became the first and only captain to win all the ICC trophies for team India including the 50-overs Cricket World Cup which India laid hands on after 28 long years in 2011. Dhoni’s era came to an end in 2016 and that is when Virat Kohli took the leadership responsibilities, something he was quite aware of as he was already captaining the Indian Test side in the red ball cricket after Dhoni’s sudden retirement from Test cricket in 2014.
Under Virat Kohli, India’s main focus was on fitness and the flag bearer was the captain himself. Virat Kohli transformed India’s fitness level and take it to a great extent. Winning series overseas became a thing for Indian cricket under Virat and despite not winning any ICC trophy, Virat’s team India became fearless at world stage.

India’s most decorated chase in ODIs came against England at the home of Cricket, i.e., Lords in 2002, courtesy of a resilient display from Mohammad Kaif with the tail. However, when it comes to their highest successful chase, it came against Australia in 2013 when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both scored a scintillating ton and won the match inside 44 overs with 9 wickets to spare.
