Deepak Chahar IND vs ZIM: In a massive breaking news development, India’s returning pace bowler Deepak Chahar is not playing the second ODI match against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The Men in Blue kickstarted their tour in a remarkable manner with an amazing 10-wicket victory against Zimbabwe in the first ODI encounter. India have gained a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
IND vs ZIM: Why is Deepak Chahar Not Playing Today?
After winning his second toss in a row and opting to bowl first, Indian captain KL Rahul revealed the big news that Deepak Chahar is not part of the playing 11 for this second ODI against Zimbabwe. After having returned from a long injury lay-off, Chahar bowled extremely well in the first ODI against Zimbabwe where he took as many as three wickets and moreover bowled seven back-to-back overs in a single spell. The right-arm pacer was also named the Player of the Match for his special performance. However, Rahul did not mention the clear reason for the pacer’s absence, but it looks like the team management has decided to not rush Deepak Chahar in order to manage his workload.
“We will bowl first. Looks a little better, looks a lot harder than the previous surface and obviously bowling first there’s something in the wicket, hopefully we get early wickets. We bowled really well and they batted well after the ball got old. Just one change – Chahar misses out, Thakur comes in,” said Indian captain KL Rahul at the toss.
