After having won the toss and opting to bowl first, West Indies captain Shai Hope stated that Rovman Powell is not part of the West Indies playing 11 for this IND vs WI 2nd ODI match. During the opening ODI encounter against India, the big-hitting all-rounder managed to score just 4 runs as the hosts bundled out for a paltry total of 114 runs. Powell has scored 979 runs from 51 ODI matches so far at an average of less than 25 that includes a couple of half-centuries and one hundred. “We are going to bowl first, we saw what happened in the last game. The conditions will assist the bowlers. We got two games to play, so we got to win this one to stay alive. It has been a bit unpredictable. Both teams have to play on the same surface. We got to bowl first and put them under pressure. Powell, Drakes out, Alzarri Joseph and Keacy Carty are in,” said West Indies captain Shai Hope during the toss.
