The Indian players are wearing arm bands to pay respects to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was the voice of Bollywood in the previous 3-4 decades. The singer was an avid cricket fan as well, and loved to watch the master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s batting.

The Baroda batsman Deepak Hooda, who has rich experience in limited overs cricket for the past 4-5 years has finally featured in his first international match, in an ODI fixture against West Indies. Deepak was named in the squad due to his impressive performances in Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.
