Apart from Sundar, the duo of KL Rahul and Axar Patel have already been ruled out of the West Indies T20Is due to their respective injury issues. Rahul sustained an upper left hamstring strain while fielding during the second ODI against West Indies and thus, did not play the third and final ODI match as well. Axar is yet to recover completely from Covid-19, after he was infected with the virus just before the start of the ODI series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda as the replacement players.

India vs West Indies: Who will open the batting in India Playing 11?
India’s captain Rohit Sharma will have a major concern with respect to his opening partner in the upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies in the absence of KL Rahul. However, the two obvious choices are of Ishan Kishan or Ruturaj Gaikwad. Sundar’s injury has also opened the gates for Deepak Hooda to get a nod in the India playing 11. Young off-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has now become the frontrunner to make his T20I debut but it will be interesting to see whether the hosts back Kuldeep Yadav to partner Yuzvendra Chahal or not.
