IND vs WI: Team India is all set to be back for another action-packed home season starting with the limited-overs series against West Indies. India are scheduled to play 3 ODIs and as many T20I matches against the visiting West Indies side starting with the opening ODI on 6 February, 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This West Indies white-ball series will also mark the beginning of new era with Rohit Sharma as the full-time India captain in ODIs and T20Is.

Ahead of the India vs West Indies limited-overs series, the official broadcasters Star Sports have released a special promo featuring the return of Rohit Sharma and highlighting the start of a new era in the Indian cricket post his appointment as the full-time white-ball captain. The promo video has an exciting rap song starting with words, “Rohit, the Hitman is back”. The senior Indian opener is making his comeback into international cricket after recovering from his hamstring injury due to which he missed the entire South Africa tour.

IND vs WI Start Date

The much-awaited West Indies tour of India will be kicking off with the IND vs WI 1st ODI on 6 February while the second and third ODI matches will be played on 9 and 11 February, 2022 respectively. All the three ODI matches are scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On the other hand, the first T20I match between India and West Indies will take place on 16 February. The last two games of the home series will be held on 18 and 20 February respectively. The entire three-match T20I series will take place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Alongside skipper Rohit Sharma, the likes of Washington Sundar and Axar Patel are also making their return to the Indian side after a long time. Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been handed his maiden call-up both in the India ODI and T20I team for the West Indies series.
