The Rohit Sharma-led India side defeated West Indies by a convincing margin of 6 wickets in the first ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. And now, West Indies stand-in skipper Nicholas Pooran has won the toss and opted to field first in the ongoing 2nd ODI game.

After losing the early wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma, the onus was on Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli to bail the Indian team out of trouble. However, playing his first game of the series, Windies pacer Odean Smith bowled a fabulous over in which he dismissed both Pant and Kohli to turn the match on its head. Former India captain Virat Kohli was once again looking in complete control before getting drawn into playing the drive off Odean Smith and got dismissed caught behind. The 33-year-old Indian batsman looked very much disappointed with his shot selection and getting out early on once again.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India’s team management shocked the entire cricketing world as out of everyone, Rishabh Pant walked out to open the batting with Rohit Sharma. West Indies senior pacer Kemar Roach bowled a wonderful delivery to dismiss Rohit cheaply and to provide the opening breakthrough for the visitors. While facing the new ball for the first time in ODI cricket, Pant never really looked in his usual form and managed to score just 18 runs off 34 deliveries.

Team India’s troubles increased when Virat was also sent back to the pavilion as Odean Smith picked up two big wickets in a single over that has put West Indies ahead in this second ODI.
