IND vs SL: Virat Kohli to SKIP Sri Lanka T20Is? Here’s the update

Virat Kohli to skip IND vs SL T20Is: In a big breaking news, former India captain Virat Kohli is very much likely to skip the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka starting from 24 February. After conclusion of the ongoing T20I series against West Indies, Team India will be facing Sri Lanka at home in a three-match T20I series. Both India and Sri Lanka will also play a two-match Test series out of which the second game will be a day-night Test in Bengaluru.

According to a report mentioned in Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli is likely to take a break during the upcoming three T20I matches against Sri Lanka. Also, multiple sources close to Kohli have stated that he will be rested for the Lanka T20Is. The former India captain has not been in the best of forms during the ongoing white-ball series against West Indies at home as his last 4 scores read 17, 0, 18, 8.

However, Virat Kohli will definitely return for the Sri Lanka Test series as the opening game in Mohali will be his 100th Test match scheduled to begin from 4 March. In another news, Ravindra Jadeja who was out of action for a long time now, is set to make a comeback during the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. After undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, Jadeja has already reached Lucknow isolating in a hotel. The left-arm spinner is currently undergoing Covid-19 tests regularly so that he attains complete fitness for the first T20I against Sri Lanka scheduled on 24 March.

It is also very much likely that India’s premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah returns to the national side for the home series against Sri Lanka. Bumrah was rested for the ongoing limited-overs series against West Indies at home.
