IND vs SL: In a massive news update, the visiting Sri Lankan team have announced their T20I squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India. Sri Lanka is all set to tour India in order to play three T20I games and a two-match Test series starting with the 1st T20I on 24 February in Lucknow. Hosts India have already announced their squads for both the T20I and Test series against Sri Lanka.
IND vs SL: Sri Lanka Squad Announced for India T20Is
Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) have announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming three T20I matches against India. After their recent disappointing 1-4 T20I series in Australia, the Lankans have retained the same squad except for the duo of Avishka Fernando and Nuwan Thushara, who have been dropped from the side. Avishka failed to provide a valuable performance during the Australia series after which he was also dropped for the last three T20I matches as well.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s premier leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga who missed the final two matches against Australia after testing positive for COVID-19, has also returned to the squad for India tour. After brilliant performances in domestic cricket, 21-year-old Ashian Daniel has been handed his maiden call-up to the Sri Lanka T20I squad.
