After the washout in Guwahati, the Men in Blue secured a thumping 7 wickets at Indore to take 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The third and final T20I will be played tomorrow at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune and Indian skipper Virat Kohli might make one change in the final XI.
Experienced Ravindra Jadeja for inexperienced Shivam Dube
India has won 9 of their last 10 T20Is against Sri Lanka and the only defeat came in Pune in 2017. India fielded the same playing XI in the first two matches and looks like Virat Kohli might bring one change to avoid the previous outcome at the venue.
Shivam Dube did not bowl a single over in the 2nd T20I. Jadeja has been in a prolific form lately in all the formats and has ample experience in crunch matches which can tempt Kohli to go for the change.
IND Probable Playing11:
KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja/Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini and Jasprit Bumrah
Isuru Udana injured; Angelo Matthews in contention
Sri Lanka will also have to make a couple of changes in the decider at Pune. Isuru Udana is injured and not available for selection in the third T20 tomorrow. Kasun Rajitha has been named as the replacement. There’s an outside chance of Angelo Mathews coming into the set-up. He wasn’t picked in the final XI at Indore and has ample experience.
SL Probable Playing11:
Danushka Gunathilaka, Dasun Shanaka, Dhananjaya De Silva, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Janith Perera (WK), Angelo Mathews, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lahiru Kumara, Lasith Malinga (C), Kasun Rajitha/Lakshan Sandakan
