Quinton de Kock not playing IND vs SA: In a massive breaking news development, South Africa’s premier wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock is not playing the second T20I match against India scheduled to be played on Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. South Africa delivered a remarkable performance as they picked up a dominating 7-wicket victory over India in the first T20I encounter. The visitors now have a lead of 1-0 in this five-match T20I series.
IND vs SA: Why is Quinton de Kock Not Playing Today? Who is South Africa Wicket Keeper?
After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma came up with the big news that Quinton de Kock is not available for selection in the India vs South Africa today match. The Proteas skipper revealed that de Kock sustained a hand injury during the practice sessions and his absence will be a huge blow for the visiting team. The South African opener got a fine start of 22 runs during the first T20I game against India. In the absence of Quinton, Heinrich Klaasen will don the wicket-keeping gloves for South Africa in this second T20I against India.
“We will have a bowl first. We don’t know how the wicket will play. It was easier to bat second in the last game. You can chase anything with smaller boundaries. You need to stay in the fight as batters. We have two forced changes; QDK has a hand injury and Stubbs misses out, Klaasen and Hendricks come in,” said South Africa captain Temba Bavuma.
