KL Rahul India vs South Africa: In an important news development, India’s vice-captain KL Rahul is not part of the side for the final T20I encounter against South Africa scheduled to be held at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. During an exciting run-fest in Nagpur, India managed to secure an impressive 16-run win over the Proteas side in the second T20I match on Sunday. The Men in Blue have now taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in this three-match T20I series.
IND vs SA: Why is KL Rahul Not Playing Today’s India vs South Africa 3rd T20I?
During the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma revealed that they have rested KL Rahul for this third and final T20I game against South Africa. Rahul has gained some crucial form with the bat having notched up as many as 4 fifties in his last 6 T20I innings. The right-handed opener scored a brilliant knock of 57 runs off just 28 balls during the second T20I against South Africa where he was also named the Man of the Match. The team management have given both Rahul and Virat Kohli a couple of days off before the Indian team takes the flight to Australia on Wednesday for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
“We’re going to field first. It’s a very high scoring ground, I feel the pitch won’t change a lot so nice to know what target is in front of us. Three changes for us, Rohit and KL are out, and Arshdeep misses out for some issues with his back. It is precautionary, nothing serious. We’ve got Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Siraj in. We want to keep challenging ourselves, keep improving and keep batting the same way,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
