Hardik Pandya India vs South Africa: In a massive breaking news development, India’s premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya will not be available for the IND vs SA three-match T20I series. The India vs South Africa first T20I match will be taking place at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The Men in Blue will be on the field for their final T20I assignment before the all-important ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

IND vs SA: Why is Hardik Pandya Not Playing Today’s India vs South Africa 1st T20I? 

While taking care at his injury history and manage the workload, the national selectors decided to rest premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya for the India vs South Africa three-match T20I series. After having captained the Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title victory earlier this year, Pandya has taken giant strides in international cricket both in the batting as well as bowling departments. The right-handed swashbuckling batsman smashed an unbeaten blazing knock of 71 runs off just 30 deliveries during the first T20I against Australia and also did well in the Asia Cup 2022 encounter against Pakistan.

“We are gonna bowl first. It was a good wicket when we played here last time. Bit of green covering but it’s gonna be a good batting track. Very critical to continue to do what you’re doing and keep that momentum in this format. Very healthy atmosphere in the group and we also want to make sure to tick all the boxes and so far we have been doing good and we just want to continue to do that. Hardik and Bhuvi are rested from the last series. Pant and Arshdeep come in for them. Bumrah and Chahal miss out,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
