IND vs SA: India and South Africa are currently locking horns in the three-match T20I series. The Rohit Sharma-led side has displayed a sensational brand of cricket and has already sealed the series 2-0. The last T20I between the teams will be the final assignment for both sides ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Notably, they will also play each other in the event as they are placed in the same group.

The dead rubber third T20I between India and South Africa will be played on Tuesday (4th October) at Holkar Stadium in Indore. The hosts would be eyeing whitewash after two stellar performances whereas the Proteas would be playing for the pride.

With just a day remaining for the start of the game, it is learned as per the reports in PTI that the hosts have decided to rest a few key players. Indian vice-captain KL Rahul and star batter KL Rahul have been rested for the third T20I between India and South Africa in Indore. A senior BCCI official confirmed the same.

“Yes both Virat and Rahul have been rested from the final T20I,” a BCCI official said.

The duo will now link up with the squad in Mumbai, from where they are likely to leave for Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022 on 6th October.

With KL Rahul and Virat Kohli set to be rested for the final game against South Africa in Indore, it’ll be the opportunity for others to step in and make their case strong.

Rishabh Pant hasn’t had a game time that he would’ve wanted. With no Rahul at the top, he will likely open the innings alongside skipper Rohit Sharma. Also, Shreyas Iyer can also get an opportunity at 3 as he has been very successful.
