IND vs SA 1st T20I: The three-match T20I series between India and South Africa will kick start on Wednesday (28th September). The remaining two games will be played on October 2nd and October 4th in Guwahati and Indore respectively. The series will act as a preparation for T20 World Cup 2022 as both the teams are placed in the same group and would be looking to cover all their bases.

In what has been the latest development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added Umesh Yadav, Shreyas Iyer and Shahbaz Ahmed added to the India squad for the T20I series against South Africa.

The decision to add Shreyas Iyer to the squad comes after Deepak Hooda was ruled out of the series due to a back spasm. Whereas Shahbaz was added as a replacement for Hardik Pandya, who has been rested for the series and will travel to NCA for conditioning.

On the other hand, Umesh Yadav will continue to be with the team in the series against South Africa as Mohammad Shami, who contracted Covid-19 ahead of the Australia series, has failed to recover.

With Hardik Pandya and Bhuvnehwar Kumar not being there in the squad, it’ll be an opportunity for Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh to have a fair amount of game time and rectify their weak areas.
