Avesh Khan IND vs PAK: In an important news update, Indian pace bowler Avesh Khan is not playing today’s big IND vs PAK encounter in the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 stage at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Team India are coming off two brilliant back-to-back victories in the group stage that included a staggering 5-wicket win over Pakistan as well. However, both teams will surely feeling the pressure equally in this massive high-octane India vs Pakistan encounter.
IND vs PAK: Why is Avesh Khan Not Playing Today?
India’s skipper Rohit Sharma revealed at the toss that their speedster Avesh Khan unfortunately misses out as he is not completely fit for this big match against Pakistan. On the eve of the IND vs PAK game, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid stated that Avesh is a little unwell and is suffering from fever during the last few days and the team management hopes that he recovers for the latter matches of the Asia Cup 2022. In his absence, the Men in Blue have decided to bring in another right-arm leg spinner in the form of Ravi Bishnoi while Deepak Hooda will also be playing his opening game in this tournament. Dinesh Karthik will be warming the bench as Rishabh Pant will be the wicket-keeper batsman.
“We would have bowled first, but now we need to play freely and assess a good score on this pitch. Momentum counts in this format, you’ve to be on the money from the start, not worry about external pressures. Injury is something we can’t control, Jadeja has been ruled out and he’s back home. It was a headache to select the playing XI – Hardik comes back. Deepak Hooda gets a game and so does Ravi Bishnoi,” said India captain Rohit Sharma at the toss.
