Umran Malik IND vs NZ: The massive breaking news development from the India camp is that their premier speedster Umran Malik is not playing the second T20I game against New Zealand at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. India did not witness the best of fortunes during the first T20I game as they suffered a disappointing 21-run defeat at the hands of New Zealand. The Men in Blue are trailing 0-1 in the three-match T20I series.
IND vs NZ: Why is Umran Malik Not Playing Today’s India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I?
After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, India’s captain Hardik Pandya revealed that they have left out tearaway fast bowler Umran Malik in the playing 11 for this 2nd T20I against New Zealand. Hardik stated that the pitch is expected to assist some turn to a great extent and thus, they have included an extra spinner in Yuzvendra Chahal alongside the duo of Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav. In the first T20I against the Kiwi side, Umran ended up giving away a total of 16 runs in the only over he bowled during the game as the visitors posted a challenging total of 176 for 6 in their 20 overs. The Jammu & Kashmir speedster clocked a brilliant bowling speed of around 149 kmph in his very first over during the last game.
“We were also thinking about batting first. It can’t difficult than this in a bilateral series, looking forward to this game. We are going to make mistakes and we’ll learn from them. It might turn. Umran misses out, Yuzi comes in,” said Indian captain Hardik Pandya at the toss.

@hardikpandya7 r u mad?? Why umran Malik is out of playing xi . Why arshadeep in playing XI. You gave him 1 over and give 16th runs. Then you stop him. You also give 16th runs in 1 over and arshadeep gave more then 25 runs in 1 over but you chance him. Umran is future , mind it.

India playing three spinners in 2nd T20I. Glad to see Arshdeep retained in the playing XI. But why drop Umran Malik?#INDvsNZ

Why Umran Malik is out of playing XI? Mavi or Arshadeep can rested. Umraan is future of our fast bowling. He can play a vital role in World Cup 2023.
