Mohammed Shami IND vs NZ: The biggest news update from the India camp is that their senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami is not playing the third and final ODI match against New Zealand scheduled to be played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The Indian team will surely be very much high on confidence after having defeated New Zealand by a convincing margin of 8 wickets in the second ODI game. The Men in Blue have already sealed the three-match ODI series in their favour by taking an unassailable lead of 2-0.
IND vs NZ: Why is Mohammed Shami Not Playing Today’s India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI?
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India’s captain Rohit Sharma mentioned that they have rested Mohammed Shami for this 3rd ODI against New Zealand. Incidentally, Shami was the Man of the Match for his amazing performance in the second ODI against the Kiwi side where he took excellent figures of 3 for 18 in his six overs which included a maiden as well and played a crucial role in rattling the opposition for a paltry total of 108 runs in Raipur. However, Rohit did mention earlier that it is important to manage the workload of the pacers especially with the all-important four-match Test series against Australia at home scheduled to begin next month.
“We would have batted first, as a team we want to get out and play well. It is a great ground to play in, everyitme we come here it has been a good score. What is important to give chance to some of the new guys who haven’t had a game and see how they go. We have got two changes – Shami and Siraj are out, Umran and Chahal are in,” said India captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.

Very bad decision to leave out both Shami & Siraj.Who will bowl in Powerplay – Hardik & Umran & Shardul. They will be hammered all around the park, very small boundaries. Moreover they will be bowling dew. How much money @ImRo45 took to not looking for a clean sweep #IndvsNZ @BCCI

Big gamble to rest both Siraj & Shami and go with one seamer short on a ground with pretty small boundries.
3 spinners out of which 2 are wrist spinners that too defending under lights.
Big big risk!!
